AutoCAD® 2009

2D DESIGNER V2008 – Now Vista (32 bit) Compatible

The latest update of the 2D DESIGNER V2008 is now compatible with Windows™ Vista (32 bit) Operating System. Benchmark tests conducted on program installation and operation were successful.

If you are planning to move or update your operating systems to Vista 32, download the new updated version of the software. If you have any questions about migrating your software to Vista, please contact PROCAD support.

We have been quite busy with many projects that will be completed in 2007. The most significant product will be the Component Designer.

This new 3DSMART module is today's most advanced tool to facilitate the creation of parametric component libraries seamlessly integrated into the 3DSMART database. The Component Designer also allows the incorporation of multiple connection points in each component and the ability to assign them with rules-based intelligence so that all design rules and standards are met. PROCAD in 2006

As we embark on a new year, we‘d like to take this opportunity to share some of our plans for 2006.  As part of our continued commitment to providing excellent products and superior service, both 2D DESIGNER and 3DSMART will continue to receive new features and improvements for the upcoming updates and releases of the software.

We are also excited to announce some big news for 3DSMART.  We will be releasing a beta version of the much awaited Component Designer in the first quarter of 2006, with a first product release expected for the third quarter.  This product will greatly expand 3DSMART’s already robust functionality by allowing users to create their own components in existing libraries, or even whole new intelligent libraries to accommodate the piping, structural and any other systems they may use.  The new components and/or libraries will be fully connected to 3DSMART’s SQL database for full convenience and ease of use.

As always, we look forward to building our relationships with existing customers and enhancing productivity for new customers.  May all our clients and visitors have a successful and prosperous 2006.

Terasen Chooses PROCAD

Terasen Inc. was recognized as one of Corporate Knights’ "Canada’s Best 50 Corporate Citizens". The University of Trinidad and Tobago has chosen to use 3DSMART in their piping design training program. AutoCAD 2006 Compatibility

3DSMART V2005 has been certified to work with AutoCAD 2006. This version also works with AutoCAD 2004 and 2005.

As for the 2D DESIGNER applications, we are finalizing the testing to ensure full compatibly with AutoCAD 2006. A new update will be posted on the website when the product is released in May 2005.

Committed to Excellence in Engineering Education

At PROCAD we understand that the future of engineering depends on the quality of education we provide our young students. With that in mind, we recently donated 20 Piping Suite licenses to the Memorial University Engineering and Applied Science department. Now the university’s offshore oil and gas engineering students have the tools necessary to create intelligent drawings more efficiently and more in line with current standards. “This software gives our graduates a much greater advantage in a highly competitive job market,” said Dr. Vlastimil Masek, an assistant professor in electrical engineering. All of us at PROCAD couldn’t agree more, and wish all Memorial University engineering graduates the best of luck in their endeavors.

Husky Oil is one PROCAD's oldest and most valuable customers.  They started using the AutoFLOW application in 1990 on their Sun Sparc systems.  Since then, their many offices and field locations have acquired all of 2D DESIGNER's modules.

Husky is now upgrading its 2D DESIGNER applications to the latest version, V2004.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank Husky Oil for their continued use of PROCAD's piping and electrical applications.

As Autodesk is about to retire AutoCAD 2000 [ learn more ], we encourage you to evaluate your current AutoCAD situation.  If you upgrade your AutoCAD software, you may find that this is a good time to look at the newest versions of 2D DESIGNER.  The new versions have major productivity improvements over the V2000 and V14 versions.  You can choose from either V2002 (for AutoCAD 2002) or V2004 (for AutoCAD 2004). 
  
Users of our V14 software must upgrade their software before March 31, 2004 to take advantage of the upgrade pricing.  After that date, customers will receive a 25% discount from the price of new V2002 or V2004 applications.

PROCAD released 3DSMART V2003 on September 17, 2003.  The new release is the result of extensive efforts to improve design efficiency by adding new features and refinements to the existing program.

The new release includes three editions designed to fit the specific needs of companies,  ranging from a single person operation, to large engineering firms.  This includes the much-anticipated standalone Personal Edition version with a dramatically simplified installation for both the application and the database.

VECO Middle East is building on its success of using the 2D DESIGNER applications by upgrading the software to V2002.  VECO offers engineering and design services for many of its major oil & gas companies in the United Arab Emirates.  Recently, ADCO (Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations) chose VECO for the Asab Water Injection Upgrade Project.

Methanex is the global leader in methanol production and marketing.  Methanol is typically produced from natural gas, and is a basic chemical building block.  It is used to produce formaldehyde, acetic acid and a variety of other chemical intermediates.  These derivatives are ultimately used in the manufacture of counless products that we find in our everyday lives, including: resins, adhesives, paints, inks, foams, silicones, plastic bottles, polyester, solvents, Spandex and windshield washer fluid.

Methanex has been a long time customer of PROCAD as they continue to upgrade and add new seats of our software. We would like to thank them for their continued business.

PROCAD has released the latest service pack of its 2D DESIGNER software. The new update offers a new Toolbox menu that includes scrolling capabilities. With the new update, PROCAD’s is going paperless for this delivery system. Complete documentation for the software will be supplied in Adobe PDF format on the CD and the web.
