Pipe Spec Transfer UtilityThe Import and Export functions of the Specification Manager allows for data transfer between two different database installations, either within the same organization, or between companies. The Export function creates a folder of text files that may then be read by the Import function. By default, this folder is created on local machine that is running the Specification Manager application, at C:\Program Files\PROCAD\3DSMART V2010\specexport\SpecOutput\. The subfolder created will have the same name as the specification being exported. There are some limitations to the current specification import and export procedures. Only one library of components will be exported each time the command is run. Therefore, if you have components in your specification from two libraries, such as the ANSI piping library and ASME piping library, you will need to run the Export command twice. The Export command will only work with components that were shipped by PROCAD. Custom components will be skipped. Likewise, custom materials or manufacturers that are associated with the individual components or are associated with the overall specification properties will also not be exported. In Windows 7 or Windows Vista, the Specification Manager must be run as an administrator for the files to be created during the import process. In order to run an application as an administrator, right-click on the executable, and select the Run as Administrator command. | ||||
